Gig Description

Electrophonic Tonic- Barry Stillwell formerly of Quickspace and other tippertop hip and happening bands- well he’s back on stage ce soir fronting this winning blend of new wave artpop via 7crunching 1970’s rock. Boy From The Crowd- Oddly alluring vocals. Who said Howard Devoto on meth? Well can only be a good thing, luv Howard Devoto and er yeah meth….this really hits it’s rock out stride. Hendrix gets a sassy glam punk indie makeover. Good reviews from Louder Than War etc. Damn good ya see. The Commonjets- Storming Northern indie with rousing choruses, quite an epic stadia filling sound akin to Kasabian by way of Mansun, good stuff. Julia Russo- Upbeat snappy indie-folk, from the U.S so none of our homegrown navel gazing here, musically a mash up of Folk, indie, pop and a dash of Bluegrass, sounds not unlike a female Paul Simon in places, uplifting and engaging. The Ancient Unknown- Jangle and Anglo indie meets Americana… Daniel Johnson springs to mind but not so much on the ‘outsider’ vibe…Neil Young for sure…guitar motifs like Felt in the 1980s, difficult to pigeonhole but much allure.
