The London SS- is a name spoken in legends of the UK punk scene of the 1970s. Although the band never released any material (but there are rumours of tape, buried somewhere in the depths of Mick Jones’ old flat) they were arguably a bigger influence on the formation of the infant punk movement than the Sex Pistols. Former members of the London SS went on to form the Clash, The Damned, Generation X…and Hollywood Brats’ Eunan Brady is still rocking and can certainly teach da yoof a thing or two about leather clad trash n roll…also featuring The Dublin’s very own Jimi McDonald...heavens to murgatroid, wonderful…definitely a must for fans of The New York Dolls… Amidst the musical marvels author and punk activist Kathy Di Tondo reads form her book ‘I Was A Teen Guitarist For The Clash’…a tale of early punk rock through the jaundiced lens of original Clash and Public Image Ltd guitarist Keith Levene. Bloody English- oh yes how apposite right now! Young London band mastering a frantic and fried combination of Buzzcocks fizz and ramalama, Pil like wayward cool and some Hawkwind cum MC5 freak out guitar. Excellent.
