Alt-Classic Album Playback presents: Swans - 'Soundtracks for the Blind'
Come along to the Shacklewell Arms for a unique listening event of Swans' 1996 masterpiece 'Soundtracks for the Blind' which has just been released on vinyl for the very first time.
The last studio release by the original incarnation of Swans, 'SFTB' has long been celebrated as their 'best album ever'. The 2-hour-plus double-album will be played all the way through on the Shacklewell Arms' great sound-system, allowing for an immersive experience and deeper appreciation of the work. The playback will be prefaced with a carefully-curated selection of songs by artists who inspired Michael Gira in the making of the album.
Nick Soulsby (author of the new book 'Swans: Sacrifice and Transcendence') will introduce the playback as guest speaker and will be signing copies of the book. There will be a prize draw during the evening to win a free copy.
