We’re super excited to announce this show!

Eat Your Own Ears presents Nicholas Allbrook + Peter Bibby

Australian artists Nicholas Allbrook and Peter Bibby will join forces for a string of UK dates together later this month, beginning at The Victoria on 26th September.

Nicholas Allbrook has just released the Tom Rogers Whalerz Bigginz-directed video for ‘St Pete’ – this first new solo material from the POND frontman since 2016’s album Pure Gardiya. The track features vocals from Maud Nadal (of Heavenly Recordings signed Halo Maud). Watch now on YouTube.

Peter Bibby will release his second album Grand Championon September 28 via Spinning Top. He recently unveiled the surrealist video to his track ‘Long Baby’. Watch now on YouTube. The song is an ode to Bibby’s ex partner’s devotion to sleep. “It is a high energy song about the problems that arose from her extensive slumber: hunger, impatience, anxiety – these are but a few of the afflictions I suffered before knuckling down and penning this tune,” says Bibby of the track.

Of their tour together, Nicholas Allbrook (who used to play drums in Bibby’s band) says: “Peter Bibby is one of my best friends. He is a rascal and a scoundrel. He can plaster a wall and drive a Long Paul van across Australia and back better than you can scratch yourself. He writes beautiful songs. When we lived in Melbourne together we’d sit on the porch and smoke. I’d make a jug of Julep and we’d play songs at the garden. Once we did a gig at the playground next to Northcote Plaza. We were, by turns, the sole audience and performers. He played songs that do that thing where they sound like they’ve been written and sung a thousand times before but definitely have not. Just pure human anthems vomiting out from the deep.  Pete sings with his real voice – snot-vomit Gatorade bong Midland teenager, tragic poetic lover of people nature and art and words and laughs. Especially laughs. Pete sometimes sends me a clown emoji over the seas on a telephone to make me laugh. Sometimes I send him pictures of me looking like a thumb. Pete is a naughty man. A big boy. The biggest boy.”
