Gig Description

Janis Whitehouse Talks To Julie Hamill about her book Loving Amy and the life and times of Amy Winehouse.  In Aid Of The Amy Foundation. Packed with exclusive material that has never been seen before, such as extracts from Amy’s teenage diaries, “Loving Amy” offers a new and intimate perspective on the life and death of the phenomenon that is Amy Winehouse. Arguably the most gifted artist of her generation, Amy Winehouse died tragically young, aged just 27. With a worldwide fanbase and millions of record sales to her name, she could have been an enduring artist and truly one of The Greats. In fact she IS one of The Greats, but was always an enigmatically down to earth if vulnerable individual, who came and pulled pints in The Dublin just for fun, and performed with her band on our stage in 2009, one of the greatest moments in the whole of Dublin Castle history. Sadly missed. Also this evening we talk to Dale Davis, Amy Winehouse musical director who will join us to discuss the significance and power of Amy’s unique voice and work ethic.
