“Heavy Drapes were one of the rising stars of the UK music scene taking the roof off many a venue in the UK and Ireland, including performances at Rebellion, The Great British Alternative Festival at Butlins, The 100 Club and many more. Garry Borland, their charismatic singer and front man sadly passed away a couple of days after a show stopping performance at Rebellion Festival in Holland in early June. Their as yet unreleased debut album will be a lasting legacy to Garry and the band and his passing has left a gaping hole in the British music scene.” An incredibly successful memorial show was held in September at New Cross Inn featuring many of his friends and bands that he liked, Rock N Roll Rescue tonite curate their own tribute to the sorely missed singer with funds raised going to his family.
