Andy Kyte – Jazz tinged funky pop taking cues from Stevie Wonder, Level 42, Bill Withers, Prince….danceable and well sung by Andy K with some adept musicianship all round. Adds a pair of duelling violinists for a great twist on the sound. Sandtimer – Folk pop rendered on guitar and what initially sounds like a banjo but turns out to be an Okinawan sanshin a stringed instrument with a unique an bewitching sound. Works really well and the tunes are killer too, compelling stuff. Devil Say Dance – really eclectic sound, loop pedal based folk with raw rock and dreampop/shoegaze aspects in places.
