Gig Description

Returning to the greatest independent live music venue in London will be nine-piece reggae & ska band The Silencerz armed and ready to deliver an extended set of crowd-pleasing covers and much loved originals. Following a successful 2018 which saw the release of their debut album Better Days, The Silencerz have finessed their live show to encapsulate a spectrum of all their favourite influences, from Toots and the Maytals to Ian Dury. Check out their music here Also performing will be talented young singer-songwriter Emily Capell with her unique blend of vintage pop, melodic ska and witty lyrics. Emily has garnered radio coverage on 6Music, BBC London and Radio X, as well as support slots for the likes of Rhoda Dakar, Roddy Radiation and The Blockheads, quickly proving herself to be one of London’s most exciting emerging musical talents. Much loved by The Dublin Castle regulars following a Monday night residency in 2015/16, Emily has gone on to tour the festival circuit with appearances at Glastonbury, Reading, Latitude and Isle of Wight. Man Like Jack – The bastard love child of George Formby and Mike Skinner. When he’s not playing lead guitar with London Ska/Indie heavyweights Lazytalk, Jack hits the road as a solo artist, taking centre stage to perform his own set of cleverly crafted originals. The sound of a ukele connoisseur who’s knows a thing or two about DnB raves, expect heartfelt pub anthems such as “My Girlfriend Hates Me” and humourus protest songs like “The Dickhead Song.” The Hit Git & Split will be warming up the room with an array of Ska, Reggae, Soul, Funk, Disco, Boogaloo & more, all on silky black vinyl! Having honed his skills on the prestigious turntables down at South London Soul Train as a resident DJ, he will bring the festive cheer north of the river with two crates of 45s. Bringing the night to an epic ending after the live bands with dancefloor favourites til 2am!
