Slender Pins-Punchy taut post punkery with elastic bass, split splat sparky drumming and arcing abrasive guitars and a melodically inclined new wave vocal fulla vim. Love it. Elements of The Stranglers, Devo, The Clash, Gang Of 4, Pil…ace…great songs. One-Eyed Disco-hook- laden, edgy indie-punk, really strong tunes with rousing choruses, great stuff positively bristles with energy . there’s a bit of an Artic Monkeys vibe without really sounding like em, Fab. Hands Of Industry – indie electro, harks back to early Human League, especially the vocals, the keys are on a more Depeche Mode trip and there’s some nice solid live drums. A goth element too, Sisters Of Mercy in particular…nicely crafted. Modern Men-Formed just over 10 months ago, Modern Men have had a lightning debut year bringing their playful, intelligent and refreshingly bold alt-pop to the London live scene. Marrying tight, jagged guitars, yelping vocals and infectious hooks, the band create unashamedly rich pop songs, exploring the anxieties of life with a frank, and at times, painfully honest intensity recalling the spikey art pop of Talking Heads, XTC and Everything Everything. Twister – arrive nice and early and sing ‘Bollocks To Brexit’ with Twister. The punk pop Britpoppers with tunes and tood to die for. Antics assured! Much much fun and on stage half 7 sharp so be there or be Leaver.
