Gig Description

Easter Sunday Matinee North Meets South No Barriers Music Festival:  Unicorn Hunters – ‘We’re the gypsy, the subliminal message, the girls in the short skirts, the razor blade, a bag of what you need.’…ha!..ok then, this Sheff band have a  psych tinged stoner grunge vibe- nicely weighted heaviosity and interesting ideas with timings and arrangements to keep you on yer toes, but when the vox hit it gets more punky, a bit Lydon…via Noddy Holder! Grand… Cristina Lourenzo – Brazillian folk sung in Portugese – acoustic, voice and strings, sweet oft times melencholic but mellow vibes that put you in mind of a female Nick Drake. Certificate X- Punk covers act from Sheff doing stuff like ‘Overkill’, 999’s ‘Emergency’ and ‘Tomorrow’s Girls’ by UK Subs and so on. Ferocity and ability to the fore, plus a respect for the ace material.  Linda Em – nicely atmospheric torch song elements with a Jacques Brel vibe delivered in the manner of a pop friendly Marianne Faithful…definitely some great art being crafted here by Ms Em. Irish folk music with a difference. North Ridge –  4 piece cover band from Sheffield. Perform their ace set with an interesting twist on popular songs. Foo fighters, The Jam, Bon Jovi, Kaiser Chiefs, Stereophonics and loads more…Tim Allen– from Preston, Lancs via New Zealand, Hangar 18 main man Tim is jetting in to Londres just to play for us- well something like that. Great  to host him today anyways, his ‘intergalactic rock’ being very hot to trot right across the Asia Pacific Region… performing today with his two younger brothers…. Doors 3pm
