Gig Description

High Visions / Asbestos / New, Again at The Fiddler's Elbow promotional image

UK-based punk trio High Visions are bringing their seminal live performance to London! Support comes from ASBESTØS and an acoustic set from New, Again.

------

Formed in early 2015 in a nightclub toilet in Leeds, High Visions are an energetic pop punk trio focused on bridging the gap between the modern pop punk sounds of Neck Deep and Trash Boat with the blistering skate punk of the early 2000’s.
The three-piece recorded and released their first EP, Waving the White Flag, among dissertation deadlines and university stresses. Following graduation, they wrote and recorded their sophomore release, concentrating on themes of mental health and self-improvement from a unique perspective.
Having played alongside acts such as THECITYISOURS, Mallory Knox, Death by Stereo and Allusondrugs, High Visions are not a name to miss out on. Combining bombastic double-time beats, catchy choruses, an explosive live show and a DIY aesthetic, High Visions are the hybrid pop-meets-skate-punk band you never knew you were waiting for.

ASBESTØS are a pop punk band formed in Cambridgeshire, UK in late 2015 founded by vocalist/guitarist Matt Everett and drummer Joe Richardson based off of their love for the 90s punk scene.
They originally started off as a covers band, playing a few local shows and festivals, before enrolling James Allison as their bassist and backing vocalist in Summer 2016. It was at this point that the band felt comfortable performing their own original songs.
In April 2017, they entered the studio to record their first self-titled EP, released in June, featuring songs like ‘Shadower’, ‘Richardhead’ and ‘Hotel’. The rest of the year saw the band play venues across the region and beyond, including shows in London, Saffron Walden and Bury St. Edmunds.
Before long, they were back and writing new music. In February 2018, they recorded their second EP titled ‘Monochrome’, released in April. This features their most popular song to date, ‘Maggy’, as well as other favourites such as ‘Liar Liar’ and ‘Futue te Ipsum’. In August, they put out two of their scrapped songs from the Monochrome sessions for free, titled ‘Trepidation’ and ‘Abstain’.
At this moment in time, they are currently writing new material for their next release, so stay tuned.

New, Again are one of the newest bands in the alternative scene marrying the power of pop punk with the raw intensity of emo music. Drawing from the likes of 2000’s legends Taking Back Sunday and Jimmy Eat World, the quartet are not without heady inspiration. The band’s debut EP ‘These City Lights Aren’t Half As Bright As They Used To Be’ has seen them regularly playing live predominantly in London and Leeds both as support and headline act. New, Again will continue to refine their skilful live performance throughout the year, before returning with a brand new EP in late 2017. The band plan to use their sophomore EP as a springboard to tour the UK with exciting new material.
