Leah Vee ∞ 71.30–Rapper, soul siren, teacher, empowered female example to the yoot dem- all here in Leah Vee’s wonderful lyricism and spiritually imbued nu soul and trippy Brithop vehicle. Beautifully wrought head music for the heart. The Reformers- Spritely twisty turny alterno guitar pop with a skanking punkinesss…in fact they’re a ska band (originals mind) but a very punky one- as if 1st album Clash were playing ska basically. Elbrano-Groove rock but played at a fair old clip, there’s a early Thrash Metal element at play here and the soulful vocal nods to yer more cerebral grunge, prog breakdowns too, a pretty unique sound lots going on but never loses the plot. All held together with decent hooks/melodies and incisive playing. District Motion punky but melodic and thoughtful indie rock- influences come from the likes of Coldplay, The Killers, Stereophonics, Green Day, Oasis.
