The Poes were started with Will and Alex writing simple folk music together Over time, and with the addition of synthesizers and drum machines, the sound outgrew folk and went somewhere different. The introduction of Sam on lead vocals and producing carved out a niche in the lo-fi/alt pop sound. Together, the Poes want to capture the feel of old-school pop music, but repackage it with modern musical techniques and flourishes.
