Keel Her Album Launch w/ The Pheromoans, Peter Simpson, The Plan

New River Studios

199 Eade Road N4 1DN London

Gig Description

KEEL HER 'With Kindness' album launch party!
Come and celebrate the release of the new LP at New River Studios, Saturday 6th July.
Keel Her was once extremely prolific with a vast number of releases going back to when Rose Keeler-Schäffeler was just 14 and indeed made an album with similarly prolific lo-fi legend R Stevie Moore. After a quieter last few years she is back with new material.

'With Kindness' is a collection of Keel Her’s experiences over several challenging years and was recorded over a few months of 2018, at home in London onto tape. The record is described as a collection of those experiences; frustrations, mental health issues, over-controlling relationships, being judged by the judgemental and being stuck in a routine you don’t want to be in.

The new album will be out on June 7th on Tim Burgess’ O Genesis Recordings, pre-order available here:

The Pheromoans are a six-piece experimental rock band from the South East of England who deal in deadpan DIY music. Expect to hear performances from their fifth full-length record 'County Lines' coming out on ALTER in May 2019.
March this year saw the debut solo release from Circuit Breaker singer Peter Simpson. Running with the mantle that post-punk was actually prog in disguise, the record evokes that particular vein of popular music, in the 80s, where the prior generation of outward thinking rockers re-energised their approach by absorbing the new-wave.

Fans of Peter Hammill’s K-Group albums, Bill Nelson’s Red Noise or even the Eno-inflected John Cale Island period, will no doubt recognise elements of each in these 6 mazy compositions.
It is really good.
The Plan is an evolving outfit from Southend-On-Sea, including members previously appearing in bands like Wetdog, Private Trousers and Vic Godard and The Subway Sect. FFO Talking Heads/The Raincoats. Post-punk in origin but with overtones of no wave, psych and garage rock.
Alt pop. Mastered the new Keel Her record!
