Gig Description

A long overdue return to London together for Blyth Power, Barnstormer and Attila.  The evening will open with a solo spoken word set from Attila the Stockbroker, followed by a set from Barnstormer 1649, and finishing with Blyth Power. Attila the Stockbroker – Social surrealist performance poetry, energetic acoustic songs, punk rock with medieval tinges! Barnstormer 1649 – Roundhead Renaissancecore and Baroque ‘n’ Roll. Crumhorn, cornemuse, shawm, bombarde, five different recorders, violin, viola, mandola and mandocello. Plus guitar, bass, drums and words of course. Music for Diggers and Ranters – the sound of 1649 in 2018! Blyth Power – Formed in late 1983 by singer/drummer Joseph Porter, Blyth Power remains one of the most original and innovative bands around, and one of the prime features about the band is their all-consuming individuality. They have a strikingly identifiable and personalized sound built around Joseph’s epic songs, with their colourful personnel, exotic story-lines and crashing, impassioned choruses.
