Sebright Arms

31-35 Coate St E2 9AG London

Gig Description

Beautiful Brummie indie pop with a penchant for garden creatures. Now based in London, John's music is reminiscent of classic pop a la the Beatles etc. Hailed by Marc Riley BBC 6 music as having a likening to Syd Barrett, John picks up classically philosophic and lyrical driven songwriting where others before him have left off- and does it better. Awkward and charming, John Myrtle writes twangy love songs are teamed with quintessentially English eccentricity and tongue in cheek manor.

John Myrtle plays live as a four piece with Ben Bartop on guitar, Tom Oliver on bass and Sean Harper on drums. Having all met bracing the London DIY scene, they have shared the stage with a multitude of performers such as Wesley Gonzalez, Ugly and Method Actress. He is releasing an EP later this year with
both Sad Club Records and Bingo Records.
