Gig Description

Born and raised in Durban, South Africa, Julia Church is a multi-talented musician who grew up listening to Nora Jones, Fleetwood Mac, Carly Simon and Joni Mitchell while idolizing the likes of James Vincent McMorrow, Lana Del Ray, Chet Faker and Jamie Woon both for their musical capabilities as well as their production. Her first break as an artist came before she moved to the UK as she wrote and featured on a number of dance records which have accumulated over 50 millions streams and radio plays around the world. Most noticeably Walls for Tez Cadey and Bright Side for Mozambo & Basic Tape.

At 18, she moved to the UK to specialize in music production at LIPA where she honed in on her sound and was able to give her solo project its full attention. Post graduation, she moved to London and has played at the Electric Brixton and Bush Hall supporting Goldfish and Goodluck, as well as playing at The Bedford, Islington O2, Off The Cuff…. 2019 sees the release of her debut material and is set to put Julia Church firmly on the map as one to watch.
