Gig Description

A Night Of 20/20 FISSION starring- Wooden Giraffes – ethereal dreamo pop with minimal beats and nicely narcotic wash of synth sounds…shugaze nugaze, druggy and sweet, with fabulous floaty female vox..superb 2020somethings to watch… Slow Like A Feeling – Electronic beats with postpunk guitars and kool keyboard, presenting an interesting blend of ’80s sounds with hard-hitting guitar accompaniment and some unique/nostalgic vocals… a nice new sound that transcends many genres, and solid work for this toothsome twosome. She Robot –  a live looping artist, with an eclectic, dynamic live show…the fabulous Suzy Condrad is She Robot… multi layered vocals, with lots of cheeky character, isomewhere between Britney Spears and Laurie Anderson! That’s a good thing. Clever little tunes with winning left field riddims and that wonderfully joyous vocal blend. Plus some arresting covers (Kate Bush, X Ray Spex). Look out for a new single out on Northern Quarter Recs…. Idle Hands – 5-piece Manchester-based indie/psychedelia band, with a deep and dark vibe from grooving guitar, and melodies that are sweet and memorable. Yellow Cap -Snuck in last minute for a welcome impromptu show this Hallowe’en Eve…and they have a song called ‘Trick Or Treat’ so we’re in good talons. Self proclaimed ‘Ass kickin music’. Yellow Cap was founded in 1998. and play their own blend of  Funk, Punk, Rock, Jazz, Latin and of course Ska and Reggae – usually at breakneck pace…yes, this ska and rudeboy reggae band outta Germany play upbeat, brassy, bouncy music with a fair bit of funtime fooling around and larks –  equal parts The Specials, Madness and Bad Manners.  Voted best Skaband Beim Deutschen Rock & Pop Preis. Onstage 7.30pm
