In November Folklore Presents a trio of strikingly original acts; artful balladry from fluid multi-instrumental collective Oystercatcher, Americana and jazz-influenced folk from Amy Hollinrake, and Emily Magpie's shimmering, cosmic folk.
Bristol native Emily brings a solo show fusing spine-tingling vocals, steely lyricism and folksy chord patterns with hypnotic, spacey soundscapes - "ethereal splendour with driving electronics".
Oystercatcher are a Manchester-based collective centred around vocalist Caitlin Laing and bassist Tom Chapman - the pair produces experimental, dexterous compositions featuring soaring vocals and multifarious instrumentation, and their backing lineup can change with every show. Can't wait to see what they bring to the stage on the 21st :)
Amy Hollinrake is a London-based singer-songwriter and musician specialising in American folk traditions and Jazz. Performing on both vocally and on the Mountain Dulcimer, she proudly displays the influence of Joni Mitchell, to Jean Ritchie, to Quercus.
