QM Records and Blitzcat Records proudly present New Energy 3 – the latest edition of our series of shows which promote the hottest acts emerging from London and Brighton.

Fronting this special free show are west London indie rockers Stepbrother; and we’re psyched to be returning to the Old Blue Last one of the capital’s big stepping stones for new artists.

This is an 18+ event.

Stepbrother
Stepbrother are a four-piece indie rock band from North-West London; an indecisive bunch who have all risen from the ashes of other bands they were in growing up coming straight from the Grove of all Groves, Ladbroke Grove. Having been playing with each other for almost 10 years since the age of 9, the band met at The Rhythm Studio’s creative hub in West London.
Fast forward to now and we’re psyched to have them headline the first New Energy of 2020 in support of their new material.

Car Boot Sale
Led by singer/guitarist Jim Terrill and drumer Ciaran Forth, "Fortune Teller" is the latest in Car Boot Sale's growing catalogue of sunshine lounge pop. With a thick, soft groove tinged with jangly jazzy tones, it's a mellow track with psychedelic overtures - a sound that washes over you from the first open chord and first word uttered, which captures the beautiful uncertainty of this new, burgeoning two-piece.

Flossy Jones
Blending cinematic instrumentation and electronic beats, destabilizing lyrics led by a sultry vocal line reminiscent of Lana Del Rey, Sky Ferreira and Wolf Alice – Brighton starlet Flossy Jones returns to London off the back of her collaboration with producer David Sant with the sparkly chill hop single, Day I Dream. A big 2020 lies ahead for the alt-pop musician.

UK Paint Horse
(definition) UK Paint Horse: A rare breed of cowboy misfits who combine the conformational characteristics of a post-punk 4 piece with the indulgent woes of hopeless romanticism and introductory theme songs. Developed from a base of hyper-active individuals with a tendency to cry in good company & idolise The Animals, UK Paint Horse is a collective of sensitive souls who want to make a very loud noise.
