PREFECT002: A special Prefect Records event... The Tubs are launching their first 7" - I Don't Know How it Works!
The Tubs -
The Tubs were formed by two of Joanna Gruesome's primary songwriters - Owen 'O' Williams and George 'GN' Nicholls - with the view of expanding the dimensions of their "jubilant" (New York Times), "hook-stuffed" (Pitchfork) compositions. The "Tubular Sound," as the band call it, cuts a wide breadth, absorbing influences that range from the Flying Nun jangle of The Goon Sax and Twerps through to needling post-punk and traditional British folk music. Exciting news incoming.
GREAT DAD -
South-East London legends GREAT DAD play oddball electronic anthems, which have recently evolved into the 'full band' style. Having recently released an album and following recent dates with icons 'The Raincoats', they are not to be missed. Expect big things in the future.
Formed in 2018 by Alanna McArdle and Owen "O" Williams from the punk group Joanna Gruesome. Ex Void was formed after the pair reunited, having unexpectedly attended the same contempory dance class. Since forming, Ex-Vöid have been creating similar waves to Joanna Gruesome, touring with groups such as Waxahatchee and Speedy Ortiz after last year's charismatic pop stomper "Boyfriend". Since then, they have been responsible for Prefect Records' first release "Only One", delivered in their custom pöwerful pöp style.
