Dublin Castle

94 Parkway NW1 7AN London

Gig Description

Sharp Class – superb high energy young mod / indie band outta the Midlands. Energy, fire, some references back to 1960s mod (Who, Small Faces, The Creation), post punk ’70s mod revival (The Jam, The Chords) and a bit of ’80s onwards scally pop (Oasis, Pigeon Detectives). Brilliant live band. The Chelsea Curve – Outta Boston U.S urgent and fizzy punk pop built on super catchy tunes with whacky hooks, lots of Jam cum Rezillos power chord crunching new wave pop, powerpop even…with balls though.  Some Buzzcocks in here too but also a hint of 1980s American Collegiate indie such as 10,000 Maniacs. Very lively, damn good. Lapels – Signed to Marquee Recs. 1960s inspired post Britpop fare. Some indpiration perhaps from Oasis, some from Cast, also a hint of The Libertines. Rocking a great workinh class modernist indie look and featuring a crisp sound on that post scally pop  tip.
