Gig Description

I@n Dury and the Blackheads– The resemblance to the actual Ian Dury with these Blackheads’ very own Mr Love Pants Dave Bickley is certainly uncanny- and what is more he channels the high priest of the Rhythm Stick perfectly on stage… and the band live up to the groovy, energy fuelled playing of the Blockheads too. What a wonderful hit machine they were. All the favourites from New Boots And Panties and beyond will make this a wonderful night out for fans of Sex And Drugs And Rock And indeed Roll. This is what we find. Those Naughty Lumps– when post punk Scouse legends yer Lumps (Zoo Records signees and purveyors of the evergreen fab 45 “Iggy Pop’s Jacket“) reformedca few years ago nobody was quite expecting the nutty, irreverent, adult rock pop mayhem that we got on stage with them. What a delight! Senior they may be, but with more youthful effervescence than a tub of Andrews Liver Salts in a teenagers bath. Promoting their third album since reforming, expect daft sunglasses, dual singers old enough and wise enough to know better, blarty sax, killer lead guitar and a joie de vivre to er, die for. New Wave ! Hospital Food – so what with Ian Dury bring one of those pre punk pub rock eccentrics who righteously rode the New Wave, only proper that we gave some proper, PROPER punk rock on the bill. 3 piece playing a melodic ramalama that has great tood and successfully merges Heartbreakers romanticism with a Rejects like raw oi attack. Hospital Food welcome all people from all walks of life, all races and backgrounds to our gigs. We do not discriminate against race, religion or colour of skin…amen… DJs We Got Killers – party hearty tunes til 2am. All flavas, all eras, from Tony Bugbear and Supersonic Si, seasoned dancefloor enablers… you dictate the vibe. Git down.
