Dirty Mitts – Stones –y groove based rock with thumping energy, crashing drums, and raucous vocals, Dirty Mitts leave no stone unturned in their decisively powerful and high-octane output. The band have decades of experience between them and their love of loud, old school rock n’ roll brought the quartet together with members hailing from Poland, Egypt and the UK!… Harmonic Swamp – when your brother is Ants/Bow Wow Wow/Republica percussive tour de force Dave Barbarossa then I guess taking up the drums is a no brainer, and here’s Barb Jr looking like Dave’s drum twin! And powering a great band too. Tightly knit intertwining riffs and quirky twangy bass led post punkish grooves is the thang. Mid paced Stranglers type numbers, sans keys with a bit of cool menace. The Harlem Racket – a three piece who play gritty, groovy garage rock. shot through with acid lyrics, creating spiky little vignettes of grinding joy. Nothing Dreams – taking tips from local peers like Radiohead and Supergrass this Oxford alt/psych/rock combo also recall a little shoegaze sway a la Ride. Ned Ashcroft – urban singer songwriter, London accent in tact amidst the crooning and drops in colloquial LDN type references…modal songs, very melodic and old school despite the street demeanour… artfully done with lots of nice jazz chords.
