Gig Description

The Wag –  Brian Ostering’s fun upbeat rock band have a brand new album out called “Blue Bottles and Copper Coins”. Think Barenaked Ladies but with a retro Beatles sound. Hailing from the Bayshore area of New Jersey, this 4-piece unit has been entertaining and moving audiences for 25 years but still sounds as fresh as it did on day one! With 4 alternating lead vocalists, catchy melodies, and sophisticated harmonies, they will take you on a journey of pop rock delight! The Beelines – Britpop and mod thru post punk jangle-some niceness. Crisp catchy tunes that stir up hints of The Jam, The Kinks, Wire and Blur. Buzzin’ baby.  Tootawl – solo chappie doing a Celtic tinged Talking Heads informed take on  Americana- some impressively crafty acoustic guitar picking and plucking too, very nice. Peter Doolan & The Saint Valentines Day Massacres –   featuring folky instrumentation (mandolin and maybe banjo atop the normal rocknroll lineup) souped up into, at times, an early Velvets groovy chug with some nifty melodic and vital lyrical /vocal work from the titular Peter D. Nice. Other songs are more obviously Celtic /Irish / trad and tap into a rich vein of Americana… good songwriterly fare…
