King Joe & The Atlantics – exciting British based six-piece group influenced by the electrifying sounds of Rhythm & Blues of the 1940’s, 50’s and early 60’s. From the ashes of Big Town Playboys, who rocked many a packed Dublin Castle show back in the 1990s. The Atlantics line-up includes a truly outstanding selection of experienced & renowned players including Nick Lunt (Jools Holland R&B Orchestra), Al Nicholls (Big Town Playboys) and Wayne Lee (Son of Guitar legend Albert Lee), along with up & coming youthful musicians thrown in the mix. This matinee performance promises to be a fiesta of old school hot to trot joy, featuring finestyle party down dance music like they used to make, played fabulously well, with attention to detail and superb chops all round. Hot support from Skull Puppets – deffo a garage band, that much is indisputable. They get together in a garage down the garden, to make a Cramps inspired cathartic noise and kick out the blues. Songs of darkness, fuzzy noise and voodoo charm!
