Vienna Youth are a Shoegaze band formed in Devon, 2016, writing songs about the joys and anxieties of small town life. With influences from Palace, Wolf Alice, Puma Blue and Mazzy Star. BASED IN LEYTON (EAST LONDON, UK) MARK CHAMPION (VOCALS, GUITAR, SYNTHS) AND DAVID MYERS (DRUMS) HAVE BEEN PLAYING LIVE AS THE DIOMEDES SINCE 2016. IN 2017 THEY RELEASED THE SELF PRODUCED ALBUM TRAPS (‘QUITE SIMPLY A BRILLIANT WORK OF MUSICAL ART’) AND IN 2019 THE RABBIT EP (‘A RAZOR SHARP EDGE TO THEIR PERFORMANCE, BURSTING WITH RAW EDGE…..SOMETHING YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY BE WITNESS TO’) PRODUCED BY JOHN CATLIN WHILST TAKING EVERY GIG THEY COULD GET.
HAVING REFORMED POST-PANDEMIC THEY ARE NOW JOINED BY GEORGE HARRIS ON LEAD GUITAR / ADDITIONAL CHAOS, AND HAVE COMPLETED WORK ON THEIR UPCOMING SELF PRODUCED SECOND ALBUM.
