Emmett Hughes is a singer, songwriter and performer based in Huntington, New York. His songs are influenced by symphonic music, Motown, rock, jazz, world music and reggae. It is positive, sincere and deeply personal, reflecting on the emotional ups and downs of life and how challenges can lead to deeper understanding.A multi-instrumentalist, Emmett sings, plays guitar, bass, and keyboards. He’s been performing live since the late 1970’s with a variety of original and cover bands. The Emmett Hughes Band features top local musicians and plays locally in and around the New York City metro area.
Sixty Trips Around the Sun, his debut album, written, recorded and arranged by Emmett, is a deep dive into life’s offerings. He recently released his second album, The Third Degree, which explores some of the questions faced in life and relationships.
He will be supporting the album with a number of shows in the NY metro area as well as a short tour in the UK this coming June. He returns to the states in July to perform at more NY metro area festivals and clubs.
