Groovy Arts Club Afternoon – last time this Grooviest of Groovy Art Clubs came to play the DC drummer Eddie’s old pal from The Vibrators, and head honcho of the wonderful RocknRoll Rescue next door, Knox, jumped up for some classy Vibes vibes. We’d put good money, honey, on that happening again. Any which way you get the sassiest of garage honed rhythm n blues and acid pop with these guys, headlining their own wee afternoon happening chock full of wonderful things today. Wonderful things like Bamboo Powders with their Lo fi mangled blues… think R.L Burnside via Daniel Johnson, with a hint of Captain Beefeheart….Mel & Marcel, making Lee and Nancy look like chancers with their English take on beatnik romance… and Luna Stone keeping the Bohemian bonhomie buoyant with their aching jazz folk pop Francais. Olympic entertainment for a Sunday afternoon. Doors 2pm sharp. NB today’s evening gig from 7.30pm featuring Falling Doves and Foreign Voices is a separate event ticketed separately. Doors open 2pm Acts from 2.10pm till 5pm
