Breaking News: Mozart has just dropped a new trio. We bring you a Night Shift inside scoop...

The Serenade in C for a string trio consists of seven mini movements. Researchers now believe that the score, although it is not in Mozart’s handwriting, is a later copy of a piece written by the young composer in the late 1760s. Its main significance is that it gives us a rare insight to Mozart’s early writing for chamber ensembles, much of which has been lost.

Our investigators Henry Tong (violin) and Max Mandel (viola) take us behind the curtain, placing the recent discovery alongside other trios by Mozart’s contemporaries and successors in tonight’s gig.

The Night Shift is our series of informal chamber music gigs – literally music for smaller rooms, in the home or other places where people socialise. They’re a chance to hear the members of the OAE playing music that they’re passionate about and bringing in a wide range of musical influences. So come along, grab a drink with friends (or meet some new ones) and enjoy the music.

There are two ticket price choices for The Night Shift. Our suggested price is £13 or you can ‘pay what you choose’ by entering your amount (with a £7 minimum up to as much as you like!).
