Gig Description

MATINEE SHOW 2.30PM – False Dots- Barnet post punk legends with a fabulous brand new album’A Finger In The Sun’ under their belts, showcasing their pithy blend of Ian Dury like London Town poetics and punky reggae party dynamics. For fans of Madness, The Piranhas, Alternative TV and other such street wise artniks no doubt too. Pete and the Lovehearts – War historian and acerbic punk wit Peter Hart maybe close on Iggy Pop‘s tail age wise, but all these years after first indicating Mr Osterberg’s jacket in song for Zoo records signings Those Naughty Lumps, he’s formed a new band and this is their debut performance, huzzah! Over the top boys. Opening this afternoon Lee Michael Stevens – solo artist informed by Brit Rock giants from Weller to The Who via Oasis and The Verve.  EVENING SHOW Doomsday Dance Band(Ticketed separately here https://wegottickets.com/event/644751/)  Toetapping sprightly psych pop from  a theatrical 4-piece funk rock band based in London and Bristol.  Coming from a background of Musical Theatre and Daytime TV (via large-scale community choirs) , they are well versed to deliver fun times and truly danceable grooves. Apparently they hail from the Alpha Centauri system, but feature a human bassist called Dave.  Rocky’s Cuffs –  An alt-rock group with a metal-progressive feel and hard-rock vocals. Michael Steele – Dreamy pairing of an acoustic guitar with strings, and yes, ‘Bryter Later’ Nick Drake vibes spring to mind for sure, but this Edinburgh based fellah pulls off his very own brand of pastoral acid folk/singer songwriter. There’s also a hint 0f  Simon and Garfunkel, only they’ve been morphed into one (feeling) groovy entity!
