The Longshots –Rhythm n Blues in the Hot Rods/Feelgoods/Bishops tradition. Rocks hard. Choice slick licks and crunching rhythm section plus some harp blowing grooviness. Maudlin – nice shonky but melodically honed guitars, a bit of a Radiohead vibe, but more pastoral, folky. Like early Del Amitri, before they became MOR and were an interesting quirky left field guitar band. Then again a bit sort of peak era Verve in the blend too. Nice. MeU – poet, raconteur, psychedelicist and all round bohemian force of nature, Patrick Lyons brings his MeU to the DC tonite for a little interspacial probing with his fab all star band. “Together, they create a sonic experience that transcends genres, combining music and poetry in a powerful celebration of art, activism and love” …Yay! Birrell Or Biscuit – Craig Birrell, purveyor of fine slacker pop outta Dunfermline, and a bit of Scots heritage, as in Fannies, Pastels, 18 Wheeler in the sound…a nice effortless psych pop that also recalls things like that Manfredd Mann spin off doing the theme tune to Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads ! Honest!
