Frankie Boots Presents… Bob Dylan Birthday Bash!!!
“Celebrating Live Music in Independent Spaces”
Come join us May 28th to celebrate the birthday of the King of Folk himself, Bob Dylan. We’ll be celebrating the influence of the Bard through the starving artists of London’s indie folk scene (May Payne, (Step)brothers, Rotting). Plus, you won’t want to miss our headliner, a one-night only Dylan supergroup, playing some of his greatest hits and deepest cuts, like “Blowin’ in the Wind”, “Like a Rolling Stone”, and “I Shall Be Released”.
May Payne
may payne grew up in rural dorset on a diet of bob dylan and van morrison. at age 15 she became a niche internet micro-celebrity, gaining a cult following amongst fellow queer emo teens due to her outspoken personality and obsession with music. now london-based, radical vulnerability still guides her as she shares her innermost thoughts through her vulnerable, emotion-lead alt-folk ballads.
(Step)brothers
This Anglo-American duo formed after collaborating within each others’ respective projects, and eventually came together as writing partners. Utilising their DIY recording space, their music has a sincere naïveté akin to Car Seat Headrest, Wilco, and Of Montreal. With a love of live music and independent spaces, they have now begun curating gigs as Frankie Boots.
Rotting
LA born and London based artist Natalie Levine takes an acoustic and ethereal approach to their craft. Taking inspiration from emo and folk influences, Rotting is most related to artists like Duster, Lowertown, Unwound, and Julie.
