Gig Description

Steve Conte – we are very pleased to announce this very special appearance by American guitarist and singer songwriter Steve Conte. You may know him from his lead guitar work with the reformed noughties iteration of the now sadly departed New York Dolls, or his time with the equally slinky and glamtastic Michael Monroe Band…or maybe you’re hip to Steve’s fabulous work with Yoko Kano and Tim Jensen composing anime soundtracks? Or his band Steve Conte and the Crazy Truth? Or one of his innumerable other collaborations? Coz over the years (and actually he’s still a young man!) Steve has worked with …Cyndi Lauper, Carole King, Maceo Parker, Etta Hames, Peter Wolf, Dan Hartman…the list is almost literally endless. And with an exciting songwriting partnership with XTC’s Andy Partridge coming together too, it’s fair to say, Steve Conte is a veritable renaissance man of rock and roll. Gonna be a great night.  Charlotte Carpenter – Americana and alt rock informer this fiery singer songwriter’s work. Not your typical singer songwriter siren, this is ballsy, badass tunesmithery, with plenty of tood and singalongability aplenty. Matinee Show doors 2.15pm £10 on door or £8 adv from https://wegottickets.com/event/660185  Acme Sewage Co – Formed in 1976 with Ozzy , Simon (sewage) Coxhill and Pete Barber. They obtained notoriety by playing regularly at venues such as ‘the Roxy Club’ in Covent Garden and appearing on ‘Raw Deal’ and the ‘Farewell To The Roxy ‘ live album. Although known as a punk band Acme are closer to the pre punk bands such as ‘The Stooges’ and the ‘New York Dolls’ delivering a fast powerful sound. Spitting Feathers– Northampton based  punksters playing gnarled punky grebo stuff…part Gaye Bikers, part Cramps, part early Damned…female vocals a bit Faye Rezillos, great stuff. The Blissetts- Are not for the faint hearted. Led by indomitable front man Paul, Arup and Jake on guitars, Andy on bass and Ajay on drums, The Blissetts sound is a car crash of anarcho-punk, Oi and old skool rock, with a whole host of current events thrown in. The Blissetts pride themselves on hard hitting, rabble rousing lyrics and big anthemic choruses.
