Anna McLuckie Trio

Doors:

The Harrison

28 Harrison St. WC1H 8JF London

Gig Description

Anna McLuckie plays the Scottish clàrsach, and in her trio it takes centre stage. This is not background decoration; the harp drives the sound. With layered vocals and subtle rhythms, the trio creates something melodic, open, and precise.

The music is rooted in folk but not confined by it. You can hear touches of ambient music, jazz, and minimal pop. It is carefully arranged, nothing wasted, each element in its place. The trio plays with a calm confidence; they leave space where it counts.

Anna’s voice is clear and expressive. She does not oversing or overcomplicate. One reviewer wrote, “It’s easy to get lost in the beautiful and hypnotic instrumentation… McLuckie’s vocals still remain the star performance.” Another called it “lush indie folk at its finest.”

Live, the set feels focused and genuine. No flash or tricks, just strong songs played well. It is music that rewards attention. If you like detail, clarity, and real musicianship, this is worth showing up for.

Based in London, she has performed in places around the world from Rockwood Music HallNYC, to a concert series in Russia, to house shows and folk sessions. She’s appeared at festivals across the UK and supported the likes of Jake Xerxes, Fussell, Rozi Plain and Richard Hawley.
