LOU BARNELL
@loubarnell
As a neurodivergent woman, I make immersive musical performance to communicate my synaesthetic experiences within a ‘Live Dream.’
This morphic space translates as a squishy, visceral approach to music performance where constellations of materials, cyborg technology, voice and movement help me make sense of my world. Shapeshifting materials such as ice, wax and thermoplastic melt and reform, alongside brutal, beautiful soundscapes and infectious, exhilarating beats.
I am an award-winning vocalist, sound and performance artist, one of Sound and Music’s New Voices 2022 Composers, and one of manchester jazz festival’s Residents 2022-4. I was winner of the 2021 Oram Awards, supported by The PRS Foundation and BBC Radiophonic Institute in recognition of innovation in sound and technology.

POLYOP
@polyopuk
Polyop are an acid-rave audiovisual group from London, co-founded by Jack Driscoll and visual artist Alex Kempton, and later joined by Harry Orso, Finlay Macaulay and Larry Reeve. Since 2016 they’ve made their name performing their tripped out live show in the UK and across Europe.
The show takes the audience on a trip through the polyhedral universe, featuring a giant shape-shifting demi-God and a nomadic alien hive tribe, who harvest potent psychedelic crystals from a nearby asteroid belt.
Taking influence from early 3D graphics and 90’s rave culture, the music is performed live on hardware samplers and synths. The group experiments with new technologies, including Hedron, the open-source software designed for their shows, now used by artists around the world.
Polyop have traveled across Europe, as well as taking their show to clubs in London such as The Cause, Five Miles and Rich Mix. They have released on Nudibranch Records, Tru Thoughts and received DJ support and radio play from BBC 6 Music, Worldwide FM, NTS and Noods. This year, they released remixes to Damos Room’s Commencement // Mineral Blend EP, played on BBC 6 Music.

S⊎G⊝ + ROB HART
Cyclically, around once a year, Riko Fango (S⊎G⊝) and Rob Hart seem to cross paths finding themselves pleasantly entangled in what feels like an ongoing, orbiting conversation. Their orbits travel in loops, spiraling inward into a self-generating redundancy of vision and sound.
Ethereal, like a déjà vu yet to manifest, familiar ghouls emerge from tape loops and crooked 8mm film. They swirl through the space in a comforting “danse macabre”.
An improvised audio/visual set performed using tape machines, 8mm projectors, analog synthesizers, and found objects. All audio played through tape loops consists of field recording (both acoustic and electromagnetic) captured on-site. The process draws on Chaos Magick-inspired feedback techniques, channeling the location’s own energies into sound and image.

HANNYA WHITE
@hannyawhite
Playful, synths and deliberately unstable dark beats. Fusing symphonic instrumentation with deep-bass-resonating synth turbulence. Like Alice in Wonderland, following a spaceship.
