Another New Music Monday - an increasingly popular and busy night with bands new to the venue, some side projects from existing bands and always some surprises.
Previous New Music Mondays nights have spawned the likes of The Orchestra (For Now), Little Grandad, Ebbb, Black Fondu. Wing!, thistle, Charlemagne, Wing! and others who are now playing around the city and well beyond.
And this a good one with talent from Ireland, New Zealand and that north London place, as well as from round the corner.
A BIT MUCH - north London quintet that fuses an wild mix of influences from the bassist’s love for math rock, industrial and post hard core genres, to the lead singer’s alt/rnb background Onstage 1015
SHEEP, DOG & WOLF - is a new full band live iteration of Sheep, Dog, and Wolf of NZ via London song-writer and multi-instrumentalist Daniel McBride. Expect some well-structured avant-pop that drifts everywhere from folk to math rock. Onstage 930
ESMERALDA ROAD - luckily for us one of Belfast's foremost bands are in town and wanted to jump on the show and play the venue for the first time. Great vocals and a sound that injects jazz and funk grooves into a quirky rock base. Onstage 845
LUCA BLU JULIAN - the singer from much-loved Drive Your Plow presents some solo material that still has folk at its core but sweeps from upbeat barn stomping to noir soundtrack works. Really good. Onstage 8pm
