The Fastmen– East London combo dealing gritty yet soulful funk with a soupcon of rock, decent tunes played with verve and conviction. Jack The Man- Slowburning emo punk pop with rousing anthemic choruses. The Trial- manage to be all periods of rock’s rich pageant all at once, conjuring up hints of the West Coast counter-culture of the late sixties, the cool of 70s New York, the beats of swinging London and Cool Britannia, the razor sharp shards of the best 50’s blues and rockabilly. Offtask- Hooky breezy indie rock with rousing choruses, influenced by the likes of The Hives Wolf Alice and possibly The Maccabees, lovely stuff
