England’s third and final Group L match, against Panama, screened in our King’s Cross basement venue on the big screen. Saturday night, 10pm kick off. Air conditioned, theatre style seating, proper sound system, cold pints from the bar upstairs from £5. Don’t miss the excitement of the world cup 2026.
By Saturday the group stage is almost over and Panama is England’s last chance to seal top spot. England got off to a flying start against Croatia, a 4 to 2 win in Dallas where six players made their World Cup debuts and Tuchel’s side played with real attacking intent. Kane’s brace was the headline, but Bellingham’s strike moments after the restart and Rashford’s late finish from a Saka assist showed there is threat right across the front line. The defence still has work to do though, twice pegged back in the first half. By kick off on Saturday, the Ghana game will also have happened, and we will know exactly what England need from this final group match to top the group in the run-up to the world cup 2026.
A 2018 rematch as well. England beat Panama 6 to 1 in the group stage that year in Nizhny Novgorod, but Panama got their first ever World Cup goal past Jordan Pickford through Felipe Baloy in stoppage time. They celebrated as if they had won the tournament. This is only Panama’s second ever World Cup, and they arrive in better shape than eight years ago. Danish manager Thomas Christiansen has them organised, hard to break down, and unbeaten in their last 12 competitive matches. They came through CONCACAF qualifying without losing a game, and beat the United States at the 2024 Copa América. Captain Aníbal Godoy holds Panama’s all time appearance record at 157 plus caps, leading a side built around Pumas UNAM midfielder Adalberto “Coco” Carrasquilla, the 2024 CONCACAF Player of the Year. Norwich City defender José Córdoba and Beşiktaş full back Amir Murillo bring European experience at the back as they prepare for the world cup 2026.
Saturday night, 10pm, a knockout berth in the balance. The kind of fixture worth watching properly rather than craning over shoulders in a packed sports bar.
The Harrison basement is set up as a screening room for England matches. Around 50 seats, big screen, bar upstairs and air conditioning so it stays comfortable on a warm June evening. Pints from £5.
Booking is recommended. England games fill up fast, and the late Saturday slot is a popular one.
