World Cup 2026: Semi Final 2

The second World Cup 2026 semi final, screened in our King’s Cross basement venue on the big screen and potentially upstairs in the main bar depending on who is playing. Wednesday night, 8pm UK time. Air conditioned, theatre style seating, proper sound system, cold pints from £5 from the bar upstairs.

This is the semi final England would reach if they top Group L, which their 4 to 2 win over Croatia in the opener makes the favourite outcome. Plus they then need to win all their subsequent knockout matches. Reaching this stage would be a first World Cup semi final since their run to the last four in Russia 2018, which ended in a 2 to 1 extra time defeat to Croatia, the same team England beat 4 to 2 in this tournament’s opener.

The side of the bracket feeding into this semi final is loaded with form sides. Heavyweight teams that could realistically reach this match are France (3 to 1 winners over Senegal), Mexico (co-hosts who started with a 2 to 0 win over South Africa), Norway (4 to 1 over Iraq with Haaland on the scoresheet), Argentina (defending champions, 3 to 0 winners over Algeria) and Switzerland. With Argentina and France both on this side of the draw, this semi final has the potential to be one of the matches of the tournament.
