Volnero– a London-based industrial goth electronica project inspired by HEALTH, Kraftwerk, Burial, Lebanon Hanover and Japanese ambient artists amongst others, Volnero combines driving electronics with dark, atmospheric textures and an aesthetic rooted in Brutalism, goth punk, rave culture, and gothic literature. A recent live review described the performance as “a mesmerising blend of layers, featuring synths, pads, guitars, and inventive vocal effects… creating an immersive and unforgettable experience for the audience.” Third House – on the guitar, bass and drums end of rock gothique, a dark but melodious granite rock with parallels in Killing Joke, Sisters of Mercy and Joy Division. Lonesome Boy Band – life begins at 40? 50?? No! 60! Which was the age the nominal Lonesome Boy here took up the bass and started making music after a lifetime of post punk fandom. Experimental, dark, thoughtful music that could sit alongside any of those post punk mover shakers of nigh on 50 years ago, from Young Marble Giants to The Comsat Angels.
