Nick Aslam- gifted Burton On Trent based singer songwriter with full rocking band who takes cue equally from heritage folk, rock and indie acts from Johnny Cash to Neil Young to Arctic Monkeys and knocks out a damn nifty set of tunes full of smart lyrics and neat musical twists and turns. Hitting the DC after a gig for Musicians Against Homelessness at Rough Trade, Nottingham and also a new single launch partay. The Flavells- classic  scally 4 piece with the tood and the sunnies to keep it cool at all times via some edgy indie pop. Posted South-Psych tinged mod pop, The Who, Spencer Davis via the indie-neo-mod of Ocean Colour Scene and The Bluetones…  there’s some fine swirling organ on their recordings which gives it an occasional late 60’s garage Punk feel, neat. Wah Wah Club –  indie pop with a high melody quotient meaning hooks a plenty, trace elements of  The Vaccines maybe but pretty much their own sound, good work Wah Wah peeps.
