Gig Description

Taurus Trakker – the primal art punk and soulful rocknroll trio epitomize the cool West London tradition of melting pot, fusion culture. Recently produced by Clash/Big Audio Dynamite legend Mick Jones, which is pretty indicative of that effortlessly hip (not hipster)  heritage …excellent live band, brilliant players, storming songs. Don’t miss!  Bella Barton – excellent young singer songwriter from South London, with a nice relaxed vibe and a hint of Bohemia. A beautiful tone to her voice (reminds me of Tracey Thorn), with songs that are lovely drifting modal affairs. Honed her craft at Brit School but has an untrained, spontaneous feel that builds on that schooling. Now with fully rocking cool band. Inego – Low slung New Order shaped fare… Hooky like bass and Brotherhood shaped synth colour though the vocal is more moderne poptabulous than Barney like, but Inego certainly have the Joy Division/New Order influence and thereby fit this bill sweetly. Hunter’s Loaf – ‘A very laid back heavy metal band’… well believe that if you like, but what we have here is more akin to early Mogwai to my lugs or even Rothko, not to mention God Speed…another kind of supergroup formed by people old enough and distressed enough to know better… but they got the muse man. Former Bull and Gate promoter Phil Avey formed the band to play a tribute gig to the mercurial Tommy the old pot man at said much missed infamous indie venue. He got Alex Vald in to the band too, another ex Bull and Gate promoter! Where are we Bugbear boys going wrong? I must form a very uptight folk band.
