The False Dots + The Shoals + Amaya

The False Dots – Nicely sardonic punk/post punk with flights of fancy and social comment in equal measure. Take on some nice ratty skanking that reminds a bit of Alternative TV, also a bit of head wobbling trippy jangling, all topped off with nicely pitched mockney vocalising. Excellent stuff. The Shoals –  the sax fuelled ska pop apple don’t fall far from the tree. Daley Thompson’s band  son of Kix the nuttiest nutty boy,  natch. Amaya – Progressive soul searching pop with a fine vocal presence care of the titular Amaya herself, whilst Amaya the band make a dark, expressive sound of Floydian portent. Fans of Kate Bush take note.
