Gig Description

Jackals – high energy supercharged pop-neo soul concoction with a funky, frantic feel that makes for dancing feet and a smiling fizzog for sure . Loads of great songs, really tight and accomplished playing for ones so young, and a general feeling of bonhomie and cool times. This band could be humdingingly humongous…which is why we have them on a Dublin Castle residency.  This is the second outing of their residency this evening… Come and see them in intimate surroundings while you still can throughout Spring and Summer 2023! Avenue – we put these charming boys on with Jackals a couple of tines last year coz it felt like a marriage made in Heaven. Well it was  and it still is, with bells on. Indie pop supreme, with a bit of grit and zest and fire. Blue Cinema–  Shugaze outta Cambridge- all done with a nice understated jangle angle and a sweetly honed female vocal, semi buried ethereal and reet proper dreamy. Crisp New Order like rhythms and probing bass lines…some 17 Seconds era Cure in here too. Rather good. Builds into nigh on Eno/Neu like soundscapes…they call themselves Shoegaze but there’s a lot going on here. Tanner Wareham –  young troubadour with a lived in soulful voice… Lewis Capaldi springs to mind, almost a John Martyn des nos jours… whistles in his songs but we’ll let him off!… good tunes…ultimately a more raw edged Ed Sheeren vibe (looping his music live on stage). From Durban, South Africa, a multiple instrumentalist talent to watch.
