Following the world’s pause in 2020 Jo Taylor, Sarah Jane Rimmer and Malcolm Thacker emerged to find a musical space waiting to be filled. A chance meeting brought Jo and Sarah, formerly part of a dynamic five piece ensemble, together with Malcolm, who shared their enthusiasm for a new musical direction and the songs started flowing.
Lacuna’s distinctive style is anchored in intricate vocal harmonies, featuring the unconventional blend of guitar, clarinet and banjo to add a sonic freshness to their original songs. Sold out gigs at Kentish Town Stores’ music night ”Thank Frank it’s Friday’ and the highly popular Cricklewood Library live music series have garnered a devoted fan base.
Lacuna has also enjoyed featured act slots in established folk clubs in North London and Surrey.
