Gig Description

Step into a rich world of sound with acclaimed flautist and composer Eliza Marshall, as she brings her debut solo EP New Birth to life in the intimate setting of The Harrison.

Known for her mesmerising work with folk collective Ranagri, and for recording with the likes of Peter Gabriel, Stevie Wonder, Florence & The Machine, and Paul McCartney, Eliza now steps into the spotlight with a bold new sound that crosses continents and genres.

‘New Birth’ is unlike anything I’ve written before. It pushes me far beyond my comfort zone. It’s filled with tribal chanting vocals, powerful percussive layers, lots of whistles and electronics. I’ve had a whole range of influences in my life that are beyond classical music, which have shaped the musician I am today – a mix of many different genres. I don’t believe artists need to be confined to a single style. I love the idea of cross-pollination, of sharing influences and ideas across cultures globally. I hope this spirit of openness and exchange comes through.’

New Birth – recorded between Real World Studios and Dakar, Senegal and releasing May 23 on Real World X – blends haunting flute melodies with West African percussion, hypnotic balafon rhythms, tribal chants, and ambient electronics.

This is not just a gig. It’s a journey through sound, spirit, and global connection.
