The Trial – The Trial manage to be all periods of rock’s rich pageant all at once, conjuring up hints of the West Coast counter-culture of the late sixties, the cool of 70s New York, the beats of swinging London and Cool Britannia, the razor sharp shards of the best 50’s blues and rockabilly, hep cats who know where they come from. But are also blazing a trail towards where they are going… The New Routine – London indie 4 piece just starting out playing some possibly Radiohead inspired progressive pop and grittier, leaner stuff too. Promising! Shelters – Nifty young 3 piece from Prague with a highly credible Cast/The LA’s kind of sound. Do it really well. Great tunes. Great attitude. Sam George – Breathy vocals and nice wobbly lead guitar with some deft backing from this up and coming singer/songwriter from Newcastle.
